Sign Language

These are the letters in Sign Language. I am trying to learn my name in sign language. I am going to practise every day.   Do you know your name in sign language?

  1. Hi Renny, thats great you are taking on a new challenge, you will know it in no time. No, I dont know my name, I might have to find that sheet and learn it. What made you decide to do this?

  2. Hi Renny

Well done on learning a new language. I am learning sign language online. I can see by your post that you have a book with all the signs in it. What I did not realise is that just as people speak with accents there is not just one set of universal symbols for sign language. I am learning New Zealand Sign Language. Did you know that Sign Language is one of three official languages of New Zealand. Do you know the other two official languages?

It can be quite tricky to read sign language. My tutor signs really quickly. Although I can sign I am a bit slow and it takes me a while to work out what my tutor is saying. I guess I will just need to practice, practice, practice... It is the same when we learn any new skill.

Good luck with your learning, perhaps we can have secret conversations in class and no one else will know.
