My Daffodil Day Creation

 For Daffodil day I made some daffodils out of cupcake wrappers. First I got 2 different sized wrappers and coloured them in yellow and orange with crayon.  The next step I put some glue on the smaller cupcake wrapper and some added some coloured glitter.  Then I glued the smaller wrapper into the bigger one.  After that I taped a green coloured pencil and stuck it to the back of the wrapper to make a stem.   When i finished I put it in a glass to be a vase.  I enjoyed doing this and my family made some too.  They look.  Have you made daffodils out of cupcakes before or any other art from cupcake wrappers?  

The Amazing Tree Art

Last week for art we made trees. We have been learning about Emily Carr. She is a Canadian artist. Her focus was trees and how they change over time. She was very talented and used lots of green and yellows. She paints trees and churches. Only a few of her pictures had people in them. She painted lots of paintings. They are all amazing. First I had to sponge the back round. I like the colours that I chose. Then I had to plan my tree on a scrap piece of paper. Then when I was happy with my plan I could paint. I really liked using the sponges. There were lots of colours to choose but I thought pink, purple and blue looked good. I also liked the yellow and orange. I am super happy with how my tree turned out.   Do you like her art? What is your favourite artist? What colours would you choose?
 

Explosions At Kaniere School!!!

This year we are going to be doing a rocket challenge .  Last year Mr Abbott did it with his class. This year we want to make the rockets go further than they did last year. We are trying to get as many 1.5 litre bottles and cardboard as possible to make the rockets. The bottle attaches onto a pump and the cardboard are the wings.  We are going to have to do some research on how to make them fly better. I am really excited about doing this. Mr Abbott has brought a camera to attach onto the rockets so we can watch what it would be like to be the rocket. Have you ever done this challenge? If you have how far did it go?🚀🚀🚀

Papercopter

Today we made papercopters for a reading task.  At first I found it hard to get it to fly but I did it.  We got to put stickers on it once we made it fly. My favourite part was having races with my friends to see who's papercopter was fastest. We made telly chart to see who won the most. Olivia's papercopter was the fastest to get to the ground.  Have you ever made this? If you have did it fly?

Daffodil art

 This is my daffodil art. We had to colour 3 pictures in with pastels and then cut it out. The hardest part for me was doing the cutting. I liked colouring in. Next we had to stick them down on a black piece of paper. We got some paint and painted on some dots. The colours were blue white and yellow. Next we put them out to dry. We used rocks to keep them on the deck. 

Funk 2 Junk

 Lucy, Olivia, Sofia, Xanthe, and I are making a virus for Junk 2 Funk. We are making a virus because covid 19 has been around. It is being built out of boxes, toilet roll, any tubes, tape and egg cartons. The theme is contagious. We glue tubes and rolls onto the box with glue guns. Someone is going to go into the box. My favourite part was using the glue gun because it was my first time using it. We took turns at using the glue gun.  It was fun because it was my first time doing Junk 2 Funk and I was with my friends. Junk 2 Funk is a competition that we have in Hokitika every year. You have to make something out of recycled junk. Have you ever done Junk 2 Funk?

 

Bunny Polyline

This is my bunny.  I made it on a google draw. To make it I found a picture of a bunny and traced over it with the polyline tool. Then I added the detail. I took the picture away and chose a colour to make the bunny. Mrs Swinburn is going to put them on a slide. I am proud of my bunny because it looks great!!! It was hard tracing over the picture of the bunny. Do you have a pet bunny?

Scratch

This is my scratch. Mrs Swinburn did one in a DFI course and she was teaching us so we did a scratch. My scratch is about bowling and bating. There is a batter and a bowler. The bowler throws the ball and the batter hits it. To do it I had to use different blocks. These are the blocks I used for the ball and the bowler. The first blocks are for the ball and the second blocks are for the bowler. I didn't need to use any blocks for batter. I  a proud of making my characters move. I like making blocks to make the ball move. It was fun because sometimes it went crazy. Have you ever done scratch?

Origami Cats

These are some instructions on how to make an origami cat. I made Cats with my friend Maya.  It is the face of a cat. You have a piece of paper. It has to be a square not a rectangle. Then you make it into a triangle. You grab the two corners  and fold them up to make the ears. Then the tip of the triangle you fold it over. Then you turn your cat over and draw your cat face on.  I made lots of these they are really fun to make.  Have you ever made one?

My Waka

This is my waka. We had to colour the waka in with water colours. We also had to use our polyline face. If we got to much water on the paper it would rip so we had to be careful.  I found it fun because it was my first time doing water colour at school. We could choose what colour we wanted. I chose red, green, blue, brown, black and skin colour. I had different shades of the colours. My favourite part was the waves and my shirt. The shirt had to be similar to the colour of our school shirts. I like colouring where there are big spaces because it is harder when the lines are close together. When we used the water it was best to use a small brush. You only need to colour the outline of the thing that you are colouring in because the water makes the colour spread. Sumopaint Cat

This is my Rainbow Cat.  I made it on sumopaint. On sumopaint you can draw things. I learnt how to make different line sizes. I found it fun because you can draw anything you want. You can change the colour and use different shapes to make different things. Have you ever done sumopaint?               

Tessellation

This is my tessellation art. It is one shape that has been copied with no gaps in between.  I liked tracing the shapes. This is how you do tessellation.
   First you get a small piece of paper and cut shapes out. Then you move the shape to the opposite side  of the paper and cellotape it on. Then you get a big piece of paper and trace the small piece on the paper repeating the shape with no gaps in it until the paper is full.   Have you ever done tessellation?

Calndar Art

This is my Calendar Art of me falling into a portal.  We had to use pastels. We got to choose two colours. It was fun using pastels.  Mrs Long took a picture of me and I stuck it on.

Melted Wax Art

Our Clown Art

First we had to do a drawing of what our clowns would look like. I did a few drawings of my clown. Then we did the one that we would colour in. You could only do the clowns shoulders and head. The teacher and Jackie had to melt old crayons. We took turns at painting with the crayons. Once the crayons had melted we used  a paint brush to get the melted crayon. The melted crayon got put in to a  muffin tin. There were different colours to chose from. You could only do one strip with the paint brush before you had to put it in the tin again. You could only do one strip because if you did another strip it would come off. We had to do a border around the clown. My clown had a blue and green border. My clown had red hair.

If you did clown art what colour would you do for the head? I found doing the hat hard. It was fun doing the hair.

Art

First we got a big piece of paper. Then we dyed the paper. Then we had to let the paper dry. Then we wrote about ourselves. Then we had to get the writing printed off. Next we had to get a photo taken and we had to get our photo printed. Then we had to glue our photo and writing to the piece of paper. I think that I could work on cutting out the writing. I think that I did a good job at gluing my photo and writing on. I like dying the paper because you could chose which colour you wanted.

Self Portrait

Description: The best images to use on our posts are ones we have created ourselves or our own photos. We have been using Google Drawing to create our own and have learnt how to use new tools to make a self portrait. We took a selfie and had to make sure we had our head and shoulders in the picture before we fitted it to the page. Next we used the polyline tool to draw around our face because it is the only line tool that you can colour in. This was tricky because you had to use the polyline in small bits. Next we had to match our skin colour and then we went into the custom tool so we could make our fill transparent. We did this so we could trace round our mouth and our nose. We used the magnifying tool to zoom in so it was easier to do my nose and mouth. I’m happy with the way my eyes looks on my self portrait because the center is almost the same colour.
